Despite decades of advocacy and growing international recognition of Indigenous rights, economic well-being indicators remain stagnant in many regions.
Poverty persists.
Land insecurity continues.
Illegal mining, logging, and narcotics-related violence threaten territories.
At the same time, global institutions, donors, and private sector actors express growing interest in partnering with Indigenous Peoples.
The gap is not recognition.
The gap is implementation.
IndiPro Global was created to bridge that gap.
The State of Indigenous Peoples Worldwide
– 43% of Indigenous Peoples in Latin America live in poverty.
– Many territories face unresolved land claims.- Participation in national economies is often tokenistic or confrontational.
– Economic models imposed from outside undermine cultural integrity and long-term sustainability.
Yet Indigenous territories consistently outperform comparable lands in biodiversity protection and climate outcomes.
Gains in Recognition of Rights
Important progress has been achieved:
The UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).Constitutional and legal reforms in multiple countries.
Growing global awareness of Indigenous contributions to sustainability.
Increased climate and biodiversity financing frame works.
But rights recognition alone does not generate economic autonomy.
The Paradox
Why, after decades of recognition and reform, has economic transformation remained limited?
Because Indigenous economies have not been systematically strengthened.
